I joined the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network because my work permits me the opportunity to help people create financial solutions that make a lasting impact on the lives of those they care about most.

But how did I get here? And what path did I take along the way?

I began my work life as an engineer with Texas Eastern Gas Pipeline. After several years there I completed my MBA and was hired to create a Market Analysis function for the regional office of Coopers & Lybrand. That experience eventually led me to marketing and sales management roles at Continental Airlines, Knight Ridder and finally, Dow Jones, where I worked seven years. Despite having incredible success during this time i.e. #1 in global sales at Dow Jones each company for which I worked experienced the turmoil of hostile takeovers, mergers and acquisitions and right-sizing to remain competitive in the marketplace. Ideal career paths were always uncertain. Management teams and corporate objectives changed regularly. Moreover, I realized that while I was successfully contributing to the employer's success, I was not making the same impact on individuals and their families, which is where my heart has always been. How did I know this? I knew because I had been teaching money management techniques to others as a hobby techniques that included debt reduction or elimination, budgeting and wealth accumulation through a stewardship perspective all during this time.

So I decided to turn my hobby and my jobs (and the experienced gained from my varied assignments) into a career where I could make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Northwestern afforded me this opportunity and it has been very gratifying to see so many of my clients address incredibly important issues that otherwise might have been overlooked.
